Dear Stakeholders!

“Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever” – Mahatma Gandhi

We at Forestry Research institute of Malawi (FRIM) provide knowledge to the forestry sector to derive a wide range of benefits from forests and woodlands that support sustainable economic growth in Malawi. FRIM is proud to have generated and disseminated this knowledge to the nation through a number of publications over the past 60 years. These include FRIM Reports, Peer-reviewed publications, Research Records, Posters, Leaflets and FRIM Newsletters. The last few years have brought some changes in the manner information is shared in the country and this has necessitated to position ourselves to effectively disseminate our research findings. The country is going through the digital era and FRIM has set up a website. This website shall be the window through which we share our news and key research findings with you. We want to use this information tool to show you how the institute is performing, how we are expanding and how we continue to attract committed, passionate staffs who want to help achieve our goals.

FRIM would therefore like to assure its stakeholders that it will continue to fulfill its mandate by providing relevant information and improved tree germplasm and carry out stakeholder-oriented research on the sustainable management, utilization and conservation of trees and forests in Malawi. I would therefore like to invite all our valuable stakeholders to join FRIM management and staff in celebrating the launch of this website and thank management and staff of National Commission for Science and Technology (NCST) for developing this new look website for us. It is my sincere hope that you will continue to find the website and its contents more informative and inspiring.
